• Counts and records stock data, either manually or via computer.
• Maintains orderly storage and checks for damage or discrepancies.

Responsibilities

• Reads production schedule, customer order, work order, shipping order, or requisition to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed.
• Receives and counts stock items, and records data manually or by using a computer.
• Packs and unpacks items to be stocked on shelves in stockrooms, warehouses, or storage yards.
• Sorts and places materials on racks or shelves according to size, type, or product code.
• Verifies inventory counts and investigates discrepancies.
• Stores items in an orderly and accessible manner and marks items for identification.
• Drives forklift or hand truck to transport stored items.
