Job summary

UAB St. Vincent's in Birmingham, AL seeks a Surgical Technologist for the Main OR. This full-time role features four 10-hour shifts, day shifts, with on-call requirements; work location is UAB St. Vincent's Birmingham. Bonus eligible up to $6,000 plus generous PTO and parental leave.

Candidates need completion of a surgical technologist program with clinical component or a minimum of 4 years of related experience; BLS may be preferred. Join a compassionate, patient-focused surgical team.

Qualifications

• Licensure/Certification/Registration: BLS preferred (American Heart Association or Red Cross accepted).
• Education: High school diploma equivalency AND completion of a surgical technologist program with clinical component OR minimum of 4 years of applicable cumulative experience.
• Associate's degree or technical degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate the safe and efficient performance of surgical procedures.
• Prepare surgical operating suite with sterile and non-sterile instruments and supplies.
• Hand required and requested instruments and supplies to surgeon during surgery.
• Assist with preparing, transporting, positioning and draping patients.
• Maintain instruments in an organized manner and monitor and track instrument counts throughout procedures.
• Assist surgeons provision of hemostasis during surgery.
