Job summary

HazTek is seeking a Site Safety and Health Officer (SSHO) to support a federal construction project at Hanscom Air Force Base. You will oversee daily site safety, coordinate with subcontractors, and ensure compliance with OSHA standards and EM 385-1-1.

The role requires at least 5 years of construction safety experience, OSHA 30, and EM 385-1-1 training. You will lead safety orientations, review AHAs, and maintain training records while supporting continuous safety improvements.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of construction safety experience.

Responsibilities

• Conduct daily site inspections to identify hazards and track issues through resolution.
• Implement and review the Accident Prevention Plan (APP) and Activity Hazard Analyses (AHAs).
• Participate in preconstruction meetings and pre-task planning to address hazards before work begins.
• Review subcontractor safety documentation and monitor compliance with site requirements.
• Lead safety orientations, toolbox talks, and task-specific training.
• Maintain inspection reports, training records, and other required safety documentation.
• Review inspection findings and safety trends with project leadership to help prevent recurring issues.
• Investigate incidents and near misses, document findings, and support corrective actions.
• Coordinate with project teams to ensure appropriate safety equipment and resources are available.
• Provide field coaching on hazard recognition, safe work practices, and project safety expectations.
