Job summary

SK hynix Memory Solutions America Inc. is seeking an experienced firmware test engineer to design verification plans, automate tests in Python, and drive end-to-end validation across simulation, FPGA, and prototype SSD hardware.

You will collaborate with firmware teams, analyze failures, and own test reporting in a fast-paced memory technology environment. The role requires a BS in EE/CS with 5 years of experience in SSD firmware testing, knowledge of NVMe/ONFI/TCG Opal, and strong Agile & Git

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, CS, or related field with 5 years of experience.
SSD firmware testing and/or development experience.
Experience with SSD or NAND Flash development.
Familiar with storage protocols (NVMe, ONFI, TCG Opal).
Experience with Agile, Git workflows, and test automation.

Responsibilities

Create comprehensive firmware verification plans for NVMe, enterprise SSD protocols, and customer specs.
Design and deploy automation tests using Python for security and firmware functionality.
Execute end-to-end testing across simulation, FPGA prototyping, and prototype SSD hardware.
Analyze weekly regression failures and root-cause firmware bugs.
Collaborate with firmware teams during code reviews to improve architecture and test coverage.
Own test reporting and communicate challenges and mitigation plans to engineering and management.
