Job summary

SK hynix memory solutions America Inc. is seeking a firmware verification engineer to create and execute comprehensive plans for NVMe standards, enterprise SSD protocols, and customer specifications.

You will design white-box, grey-box, and black-box tests and own end-to-end validation across simulation, FPGA prototyping, and prototype SSD hardware. The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field and 5+ years in SSD firmware testing or development, plus

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with five or more years of progressive experience in firmware testing or related field.
• Experience with NVMe, enterprise SSD protocols, and customer specifications.

Responsibilities

• Create comprehensive firmware verification plans covering NVMe standards, enterprise SSD protocols, and customer specifications (e.g., SMART, Trim, Get Log Page, OCP).
• Design and deploy white-box, grey-box, and black-box automation tests using Python to validate security protocols and firmware functionality on a module-by-module basis.
• Execute and own end-to-end testing across diverse platforms, including simulation, FPGA prototyping, and prototype SSD hardware.
• Utilize deep SSD domain expertise to analyze weekly regression failures, root-cause complex firmware bugs, and drive issue resolution.
• Partner closely with firmware development teams during code reviews to improve software architecture, expand test coverage, and elevate overall code quality.
• Own test reporting and articulately communicate technical challenges, solutions, and mitigation plans to both engineering teams and management.
