Job summary

The Office of Highway Safety and Justice Programs (OHSJP) within the South Carolina Department of Public Safety seeks an experienced program manager to support the School Resource Officer (SRO) initiative. You will promote the program, coordinate on-site monitoring, and provide technical assistance to law enforcement, schools, and districts.

Travel is required; candidates should have a Bachelor's degree, Class 1 LEO certification, and solid knowledge of SC laws.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent in an approved field.
Active Class 1 LEO certification per LETC requirements with 5+ years as a SC Class 1 LEO.
Ability to interpret SC laws, regulations, and policy clearly.
Strong written and oral communication; public speaking能力.
Proficiency with standard office software and AV equipment.

Responsibilities

Promotes and garners support for the SRO Program among law enforcement and school districts.
Conducts on-site monitoring/compliance visits and discusses best practices with stakeholders.
Provides technical assistance to agency heads, district superintendents, and local project directors.
Coordinates initiatives and oversees SRO program activities and revisions.
Assists in preparing guidelines, conducting workshops, and disseminating training resources.
Reviews applications and supports compliance reviews and reporting.
Performs duties during critical incidents and supports patrols as needed.
