Job summary

King's Daughters in Ashland, KY is seeking a healthcare aide in the Res (Float) department to provide long-term care and related services per care plans. You will help residents maintain independence, dignity, and health while delivering compassionate support in a homelike setting.

Responsibilities include direct care, assisting with activities of daily living, mobility and transfers, hygiene, and safety. Prior experience is valued, and certification as a Kentucky SRNA is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and Vocational/technical training in a designated technical area.
• 0-1 years of experience in a healthcare setting; paid experience may be considered.
• Kentucky SRNA (State Registered Nurse Assistant) certification.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct care to residents to improve or maintain abilities according to the plan of care.
• Assists residents with activities of daily living including bathing, grooming, dressing, mobility, transfers and feeding.
• Transports residents to tubs or showers, adjusts water temperature, maintains privacy during wash and rinse.
• Selects clothing for residents, assists with dressing, and communicates needs or repairs to the charge nurse.
• Assists with toileting, provides bedpans or urinals, maintains hygiene, and records output as directed.
• Provides catheter care and follows infection control procedures.
• Assists with range of motion exercises and weight-bearing support for ambulation.
• Maintains a safe environment by removing obstacles and reporting equipment defects to the charge nurse.
• Monitors resident progress toward treatment goals and reports responses to the charge nurse.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
