King's Daughters in Ashland, KY is seeking a healthcare aide in the Res (Float) department to provide long-term care and related services per care plans. You will help residents maintain independence, dignity, and health while delivering compassionate support in a homelike setting.
Responsibilities include direct care, assisting with activities of daily living, mobility and transfers, hygiene, and safety. Prior experience is valued, and certification as a Kentucky SRNA is required.
Responsible for providing long-term care nursing and related services to residents consistent with comprehensive assessments and care plans. Delivers care that meets residents’ physical, mental, and psychosocial needs. Enables individuals to attain or maintain the highest practicable level of functioning. Maintains a homelike environment and protects resident rights. Assists residents in maintaining independence and control to the greatest extent possible.
High school diploma or equivalent and Vocational/technical training in a designated technical area
0-1 years of experience in a healthcare, clinical setting, or a relevant area. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. All experience must be paid and in the same related field. Part-time and PRN experience will be prorated based on hours worked per week. Volunteer work and internships for academic credit are not counted.
Kentucky State Registered Nurse Assistance (SRNA) certificate
This position requires regular standing or walking with objects weighing up to 10 pounds; intermittent standing or walking with objects up to 25 pounds; intermittent lifting, pushing, and/or pulling of objects weighing up to 50 pounds; and occasional lifting, pushing, and/or pulling of objects over 50 pounds. Also involves intermittent sitting at a computer workstation for extended periods of time; performing tasks with repetitive motions (such as typing); intermittent risk of back injury from moving, lifting, or positioning patients or equipment; intermittent risk of injuries from use of equipment on the job; intermittent exposure to cuts/punctures and bloodborne or airborne pathogens; and occasional exposure to hazardous chemicals and fumes including waste, burns, temperature extremes, and combative or violent people.
