Gallup in San Francisco offers a summer 2027 internship focused on building observability and automation for applications on AWS. You will monitor performance with Dynatrace, create dashboards, and support incident response while collaborating with SRE, DevOps, and software teams.

Ideal candidates are pursuing CS/MIS degrees, have basic cloud and OS knowledge, and can work 40 hours/week for 12 weeks in Summer 2027, with on-site Monday-Thursday and remote Fridays. Compensation is $45–$50/hour.

Qualifications

• Enrollment in an associate, bachelor's, or graduate degree program in computer science, MIS, or a related field.
• Basic knowledge or experience with AWS or another cloud platform.
• Basic knowledge or experience with Windows or Linux server administration, networking, or infrastructure.
• Classroom or professional experience with Python, Bash, PowerShell, Terraform, Docker, Amazon ECS, GitHub.
• Preferred exposure to monitoring or incident management tools such as Dynatrace, Grafana, or PagerDuty.
• Enrollment at a college or university within an 80-mile radius of San Francisco, California.
• Preferred anticipated graduation between August 2027 and May 2028; 2029 graduates will be considered.
• Availability to work 40 hours per week for 12 weeks during summer 2027.
• Commitment to working on-site at Gallup's San Francisco office Monday through Thursday, with remote work option on Friday.
• Eligibility to work in the United States; this position does not sponsor employment visas.

Responsabilités

• Help build and improve observability using tools like Dynatrace and PagerDuty to monitor applications running on AWS.
• Create dashboards, alerts, and metrics that provide engineering teams real-time insight into application performance and system reliability.
• Support automated alerting workflows integrated with Slack.
• Shadow and support incident response to learn how Gallup detects, resolves, and prevents issues before they affect customers.
• Write scripts and automation to reduce repetitive operational work.
• Collaborate with site reliability engineers, DevOps engineers, and software developers.
