Job summary

Axon in Seattle, WA, invites an experienced Senior Cloud Engineer to drive architecture for the Connected Devices Cloud team. You will lead large-scale, low-latency cloud services and shape deployment patterns, SLOs, and reliability.

This role blends hands-on coding with technical leadership across multiple squads. You will mentor engineers, collaborate with product/design teams, and influence the DevOps stack using ArgoCD, Terraform, and Kubernetes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS, engineering, or related field.
• 6+ years building and operating distributed, highly-available cloud systems.
• Proven backend development in Go, Java, Scala, or C#.
• Hands-on Kubernetes, Docker, and Terraform experience.
• Experience influencing multiple teams and mentoring engineers.

Responsibilities

• Lead system design & architecture for large-scale Kubernetes-based services.
• Set the technical bar: write well-tested, maintainable code and code reviews.
• Guide cross-team initiatives: mentoring engineers and design reviews.
• Own availability & performance: capacity planning, SLO/SLA, resiliency.
• Advance our DevOps stack: CI/CD with ArgoCD, Terraform & Kubernetes; observability.
• Collaborate with Product/Design and partner eng groups to craft integrated solutions.
• Act as a culture carrier: growth mindset, inclusion, mission alignment.
