Apple Inc. is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer for the Retail and Marcom Engineering group in Austin, Texas. The role focuses on ensuring reliability, performance, and scale of production systems, with on-call responsibilities and strong collaboration with cross-functional teams.

You will automate infrastructure, manage containerized services, and drive capacity planning and efficient resource usage across on-prem and cloud environments. Strong scripting and cloud experience are essential.

Qualifications

• 3 years hands-on systems or cloud engineering experience.
• Knowledge of Linux utilities and commands.
• Experience with Git/SVN and automated build/test tooling.
• Kubernetes expertise in production environments.
• Experience with at least one cloud platform (AWS or GCP).

Responsabilités

• Monitor health, performance, and availability of production systems and respond to alerts to maintain SLOs/SLAs.
• Participate in on-call rotations as a first responder to incidents across the stack.
• Design and maintain highly available, fault-tolerant systems on on-prem and cloud environments (AWS/GCP).
• Automate provisioning and configuration using infrastructure as code (Terraform, Ansible, Puppet).
• Develop and maintain operational tooling in Python or Go to improve workflows and observability.
• Administer and optimize Kubernetes clusters for scalability and efficiency.
• Perform capacity planning and performance tuning to anticipate demand.
• Conduct root cause analysis and contribute to postmortems for reliability improvements.
• Document system architecture, runbooks, and procedures for stakeholders.
• Contribute to evolving reliability practices across multi-platform environments.
