Apple Inc. in Austin, Texas, seeks a Sr Site Reliability Engineer to lead reliability across infrastructure, storage, and cloud platforms powering www.apple.com experiences worldwide.

You will own critical systems end-to-end, drive scalability, implement IaC and automation, mentor engineers, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure high availability and performance at scale.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on experience as a systems/storage/cloud engineer with production ownership.
• Knowledge of Linux utilities and internals (OEL/RHEL/CentOS).
• Experience with Git and automated build/test systems (Jenkins, Vagrant).
• Kubernetes platform experience, on-prem or cloud.
• Experience with at least one major cloud platform and architecture decisions.
• Storage experience with NetApp/Isilon/object storage at scale.
• Configuration management experience (Puppet/Ansible).
• Hands-on with x86 hardware platforms.
• Automation skills in Python or Go.
• Networking and web tech fundamentals, debugging web apps at network/protocol level.

Responsibilities

• Architect and own highly available, resilient systems across infrastructure, storage, and cloud platforms.
• Set reliability engineering direction: on-call, incident response, SLAs.
• Drive capacity planning and proactive scalability.
• Own incident response and postmortems for production systems.
• Design and evolve infrastructure-as-code and automation standards.
• Administer and scale storage systems at production scale.
• Mentor engineers and review designs to raise technical rigor.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to embed reliability requirements.
• Evaluate and adopt new tools and platforms to improve reliability and velocity.
