Job summary

PNC Financial Services Group, Inc. is seeking a Software Engineering Manager – Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) to lead a distributed team ensuring the reliability, scalability and operational excellence of mission-critical platforms powering PNC's digital experiences.

The role blends technical leadership with hands-on problem solving and people management. You will supervise SRE engineers, participate in on-call rotations, and drive improvements across incident response, monitoring,

Qualifications

• 5+ years related experience and 3+ years of management experience
• Strong experience in SRE, Production Support, or DevOps
• Lead teams in high-availability, enterprise environments
• Experience with incident/problem/change management frameworks
• Hands-on monitoring, cloud/infrastructure platforms, and automation
• Experience improving reliability, observability, and operational maturity
• Strong communication skills for high-pressure situations
• Experience with Oracle, SQL, MongoDB, Cassandra and knowledge of Elasticsearch/Redis/MQ/Kafka is a plus

Responsibilities

• Lead SRE teams; set goals, drive accountability, mentor engineers, and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders
• Provide after-hours leadership and on-call support for critical production services
• Lead end-to-end incident management and post-incident analysis
• Provide escalation point for complex production issues across applications, infrastructure, and databases
• Drive root cause analysis and permanent fixes to reduce repeated incidents
• Oversee change management, release execution, testing, rollback strategies and CAB participation
• Advance monitoring and observability; optimize dashboards and alerting with tools like Dynatrace and Logscale
• Champion resiliency, scalability, and performance optimization
• Lead a Global 24x7 operation with distributed teams and automation initiatives
• Ensure governance, risk, and compliance; support audits and security practices
