Job summary

d-Matrix designs and manufactures purpose-built AI inference silicon and the supporting infrastructure. This role builds and leads the Site Reliability Engineering function from the ground up, owning the infrastructure that development, validation, and customer deployments rely on across on-prem, colocation, and cloud environments.

You will hire and grow the team, set technical direction, own SLOs, and ensure observability and cost efficiency while remaining hands-on.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• 15+ years in SRE, infrastructure engineering, or production engineering.
• 5+ years leading SRE or infrastructure engineering teams.
• Deep Linux systems expertise: bare-metal operations, enterprise shared storage, and hybrid-cloud storage integration.
• Proven experience operating colocation and on-premises hardware at scale.
• Hands-on Infrastructure as Code fluency with Terraform and Ansible at production scale.
• Kubernetes cluster operations at scale.
• Full observability stack ownership for SLO definition, alert design, and end-to-end signal quality.
• Strong Python and/or Go scripting for production services and automation.
• Executive communication skills translating infra health to senior leadership.
• Ability to operate in a high-ambiguity environment.

Responsibilities

• Build and lead the SRE function from scratch and hire 1–3 engineers.
• Direct a Data Center & Lab Technician team and set operational standards.
• Own 24x7 reliability across all environments and design for failure and change control.
• Define SLI/SLOs, error budgets, on-call rotations, and RCA management.
• Own the observability stack and craft alerting and dashboards for SLO visibility.
• Drive IaC-first automation with Terraform and Ansible for self-healing infra.
• Lead FinOps and capacity planning across cloud, colo, and on-prem.
• Migrate to enterprise-grade shared storage across on-prem, colo, and cloud.
