Job summary

Barclays is seeking an Application Support Analyst - SRE to provide production support and application management for Synthetics SWAP Trading and related apps. You will act as the primary escalation point for Front Office issues, participate in crisis management, and collaborate across teams to support production changes and minimize disruption.

The role requires strong Unix/Linux/Windows, SQL Server, scripting (Shell/Perl, PowerShell), and middleware knowledge, plus experience with ITRS Geneos,

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Unix/Linux/Windows operating systems.
• Experience with SQL Server, including SQL/PL-SQL development.
• Proficiency in Shell/Perl scripting and PowerShell; familiarity with Java and middleware.
• Experience with ITRS Geneos, Autosys, PGP Encryption/Decryption; modern platforms like aPaaS, OpenShift, Kafka.
• Understanding of trading applications and Prime Services in financial services.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and improve software in alignment with business objectives.
• Provide production support and incident management for trading applications.
• Collaborate with product, development, infra, operations, and vendors on production changes.
• Escalate and resolve issues to minimize business disruption and risk.
• Adhere to secure coding practices and implement effective unit testing.
