Role Overview

A Sr Welder - Training Lead (Aluminum), reports to a Production Supervisor, leading and directing aluminum welding training within MLS manufacturing processes and guidelines.

Responsibilities
  1. Conduct aluminum welding training for new hires and transfers based on departmental needs.
  2. Adhere to MLS manufacturing requirements, quality standards, and core competencies in delivering quality instruction.
  3. Maintain and improve the training curriculum and program.
  4. Vary instruction to meet different learning styles and provide timely feedback.
  5. Maintain a professional learning environment and accurate training records.
  6. Complete weld certification documentation and coordinate with Quality Control.
  7. Stay current with MLS welding technology, processes, and equipment.
  8. Read, interpret, and follow blueprints and welding symbols.
  9. Perform other duties as assigned and assist in developing P.I.P. for underperforming individuals.
Qualifications

Education: High school diploma or GED.

Experience: Minimum five years in MIG and TIG aluminum welding, with formal craft training, blueprint reading, and shop math skills.

Must be certified through MLS training center and demonstrate skills via welding test. Flexibility to work extended hours, rotating shifts, and possess excellent interpersonal, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

Physical Demands

Work in non-climate-controlled environments with physical activities including lifting, climbing, crawling, working at heights, and handling chemicals. Must meet physical demand levels as per job analysis.
