Job summary

Heidelberg Materials is seeking a Lead Underground Miner to manage daily underground operations in Connellsville, PA. You will lead a team of hourly employees, coordinate production schedules, and oversee equipment availability and maintenance to achieve safety and production goals.

The role requires knowledge of underground mining methods, ventilation, and mining equipment, with a PA Underground Mine Foreman certification preferred.

Qualifications

• Leadership experience in underground mining or similar environments.
• Knowledge of underground mining methods, drilling and blasting, ventilation, and mobile mining equipment.
• Pennsylvania Underground Mine Foreman certification and applicable underground mining licenses/certifications.
• Strong problem-solving, planning, communication, and decision-making skills.
• Experience managing crews, equipment, and daily mining production activities.
• Union experience preferred.

Position overview

• Pennsylvania Underground Mine Foreman certification and applicable underground mining licenses/certifications required.
• Strong problem-solving, planning, communication, and decision-making skills with the ability to balance daily operations and long-term mine development.
• Experience managing crews, equipment, and daily mining production activities.
• SAP or similar maintenance and operational systems experience preferred.
• Union experience preferred.

Work environment

Regular exposure to underground mining environments, heavy equipment, dust, noise, varying temperatures, and industrial hazards.
PPE required when entering operational areas; steel-toe boots required for site.
