Qualifications

  • 10-15 years of transportation or traffic engineering experience required.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) status is mandatory.
  • Experience with IDOT or local IL projects is essential.

Farnsworth Group

is seeking a Sr. Transportation Engineer in our Chicago, Bloomington, Lisle, Peoria, or Tinley Park, IL offices. This is an exciting opportunity for a Transportation Project Manager who is looking to hone their management skills while providing a direct impact to our growing organization!

Job Activities:
  1. Serves as project manager with autonomy for project-related tasks and as a designated client contact. May have project management responsibilities on multiple projects.
  2. Responsible for project schedules and timely completion of projects.
  3. Assists in the coordination of estimating, scoping, and marketing strategies for proposed projects.
  4. Assists in the preparation of engineering agreements for projects.
  5. Provides street and highway design engineering analysis and computations.
  6. Prepares or modifies reports, specifications, plans, studies, permits, and designs for various projects.
  7. May delegate and/or supervise the work of other engineers.
  8. Actively participates in business development efforts, attends client meetings, and makes presentations in support of the client/project manager.
Specific Requirements include:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited Civil, Transportation, or Traffic Engineering program
  • 10-15 years of transportation or traffic engineering experience
  • IDOT or local IL project experience is required
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE)
  • Ability to manage and collaborate with Engineers, Technicians, Clients, and Administrators
  • Ability to contribute to several projects simultaneously
  • Working experience with Microsoft Office, MicroStation, ORD, and Geopak preferred

Our Hybrid Work Program offers flexible work arrangements to support work-life balance and contribute to our company culture.

Salary Range: $105,000 - $135,000

Salary to be determined based on education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, as well as internal and external equity.
