- Design end-to-end supply chain solutions tailored to client needs, leveraging industry best practices and advanced logistics tools.
- Lead engineering support for client RFPs and RFQs, including solution design, network modeling, pricing inputs, and development of written responses and client-facing presentations.
- Manage spot quote and RFQ activity for key accounts, ensuring timely, competitive responses and coordinating rate, capacity, and service inputs across internal teams. This includes managing and quality-reviewing the output of the dedicated pricing desk team, ensuring accuracy, competitiveness, and correct spot versus contract-rate determinations. This includes triage of incoming shipment requests, determining spot versus contract-rate applicability, and escalating recurring lanes for migration into standing contract rates.
- Partner with the Global Tender Management team and Sales to ensure RFP responses are competitive, accurate, and aligned with operational capabilities.
- Identify process gaps and recommend, design, and implement process improvements.
- Oversee rate and cost data integrity for assigned accounts across air, ocean, and ground, including auditing carrier-provided costs, ensuring accurate accessorial itemization, and supporting rate card administration.
- Proactively identify, quantify, and present cost-savings and network-optimization opportunities to clients as a core component of ongoing account support, including responsibility for presenting a defined annual savings target to the client across air, ocean, and ground supply chain optimization.
- Establish baselines, define KPIs, and implement performance measures to track ongoing solution effectiveness.
- Track spot event volume, quote cycle time, and rate and accessorial accuracy trends; flag recurring issues and template or process gaps and drive corrective actions.
- Apply advanced analytics to interpret business data and drive continuous improvement.
- Meet with clients on a regular basis and deliver clear, executive-level presentations.
- Lead recurring business reviews with key clients, presenting performance results, savings delivered, and forward-looking optimization roadmaps.
- Act as a liaison across Operations, Sales, Clients, and the broader Engineering team to align on solution design and delivery.
- Mentor and develop junior engineers and analysts, supporting their technical growth and project execution.

Other Skills and Abilities
Strong technical aptitude across:
- Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
- Transportation Management Systems (TMS) such as e2open TMF or Descartes Aljex; Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) experience a plus
- SmartSheet (or similar) structured trackers and Coupa Sourcing (CSO)/Coupa Pay
- Microsoft Visio (or similar) for process mapping
Experience with:
- Transportation routing and network optimization tools, such as Appian DirectRoute (trucking) and Llamasoft Supply Chain Guru (supply chain network design)
- Simulation and inventory modeling tools
- Data visualization platforms — Tableau, Spotfire, and Power BI
Additionally:
- Strong working knowledge of Air, Ocean, and Ground transportation operations, pricing, and optimization, including per-kilo, per-container, and per-truckload rate construction and common accessorials.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex analyses into clear client deliverables.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced, client-facing environment.
- Ability and willingness to travel approximately 10% of the time for client meetings, business reviews, and site visits.
- Ability to work on-site in Houston, TX.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree preferred in Engineering/Business/Supply Chain or equivalent.
- Minimum of seven years of related experience.
