In this role, Mercury Systems seeks a Senior Test Technician to test and troubleshoot state-of-the-art, complex digital system assemblies in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.

Job Summary

Senior Test Technician – MFTTS3. The candidate will be an extension of the Test Engineering team responsible for ensuring the proper operation and functionality of advanced technological products that have a real-world impact in one of the fastest-growing companies in the US. This position is for a seasoned individual contributor in the Test sub-family and works under limited supervision in routine and defined situations. This is a first shift position. 2nd shift hours are 1:00 pm‑10:30 pm Monday‑Thursday and 1:00 pm‑9:30 pm every other Friday on a 9/80 schedule.

Job Responsibility
  • Apply electronics principles in the test and troubleshooting of high-density multi‑system (multiple CPU/FPGA) assemblies, at the board and system level.
  • Perform functional test procedures that verify PCB and system fit, form, and functionality including monitoring diagnostics tests and measuring performance on complex systems.
  • Set up and deploy complex and specialized equipment/facilities across a broad spectrum of technologies.
  • Verify and validate product configuration, test processes, and test equipment/set‑up configuration and operation.
  • Collect and record performance data that verifies the reliability and validity of the desired function; prepare accurate and complete test reports of all recorded data.
  • Program and verify devices.
  • Troubleshoot systems, devices, processes and/or test set‑ups to locate and repair defective areas.
  • Assist engineers in submitting processes and operations that assure proper function of product and test equipment per design specifications by working from general block diagrams, rough outlines of basic circuits, oral instructions, schematics, etc.; make necessary calculations to obtain or compare data as required.
  • Perform initial procedural tests on new and/or changed equipment; submit recommendations for modifications as required to achieve desired results.
  • Report defects, non‑conforming materials, and communicate with the production team to resolve defects/product failures.
  • Perform any other task assigned by the supervisor.
Required Qualification
  • Perform complex testing and moderate problem‑solving on digital systems and subassemblies, with a solid understanding of manufacturing quality standards and ability to read schematics or other technical data as needed.
  • Prepare complex test reports and data in accordance with functional and acceptance level test procedures, and assist with red‑lining of existing functional testing procedures.
  • Execute thermal, shock, vibration and environmental tests.
  • Troubleshoot and determine root cause of issues with assemblies using a variety of test equipment including oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, serial emulators, networking devices, and other laboratory tools.
  • Work with little to no general direction.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills; ability to collaborate in a team environment and meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge of practical applications of engineering and technology, and ability to apply principles, techniques, and procedures to manufacturing processes.
  • Understand production processes, quality control, costs, and techniques for maximizing manufacturing efficiency and product quality.
  • Apply troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills to determine root causes and develop solutions, predicting how changes in operations and process flow will affect manufacturing efficiencies and product quality.
  • Read and interpret complex schematics and functional/diagnostic specifications for determining root cause of failures in the test environment.
  • Maintain training on applicable equipment and procedures as assigned per job title.
  • Basic Microsoft Office skills; broad understanding of computer systems, TCP/IP, serial communications, RDP, Linux, and basic command structure. Knowledge of Factory Logix, Oracle, Xilinx Suites, Dediprog, ProComm, SecureCRT, and TeraTerm is a plus.
Preferred Qualification
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 3–5 years of relevant experience.

Fulltime Equivalent Job Grade Salary Range for this position
  • $44,000.00 – $88,000.00 annual salary for in‑office or hybrid employees in FL, GA, IN, AZ, AL, MD, or TX, and all remote employees.
  • $49,300.00 – $98,600.00 annual salary for in‑office or hybrid employees in VA, CA, NH, or MA.
  • $51,900.00 – $103,800.00 annual salary for in‑office or hybrid employees in NJ.
