Position Overview

By Light is looking for an experienced Senior Test Engineer to provide Quality Assurance for leading, overseeing and executing the testing of software applications.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute test cases to ensure that the application is working according to requirements
• Develop a test plan to execute overall testing of the application
• Support RTM development to ensure that all requirements have been validated
• Deliver results and review fix plan for retest
• Participate in recurring project meetings with the team and the client
• Conduct Security, Performance and Regression testing
• Continuously evaluate and improve testing processes, methodologies, and tools to enhance efficiency and effectiveness
• Work with cross-functional teams, including developers, product owners, and business stakeholders, to understand product requirements and ensure testing activities are aligned with project goals
• Conduct manual testing

Required Experience/Qualifications

• 2-4 years relevant experience required.
• College degree or equivalent years of experience
• Strong understanding of software development lifecycles, testing methodologies, and tools
• Ability to analyze complex technical issues, identify root causes of defects, and make informed decisions
• Writing and Executing Manual Test plans
• Ability to lead and mentor junior test engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment
• Experience with tools like Jira, Bugzilla, or similar systems for defect management
• MS Office tools Experience
• Experience with functional, integration, regression and performance testing
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams

Preferred Experience/Qualifications

• Section 508 or Accessibility Compliance experience, is a plus.
• Automation testing.
• Technical writing experience.
• Experience working on government projects
• Active clearance a plus

Special Requirements/Security Clearance

• Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust
