Job summary

KBW Financial Staffing & Recruiting partners with a Portsmouth, NH area organization to hire an experienced Senior Accountant. This role provides exposure to financial reporting, analysis, month-end close, audit support, and process improvements.

You will prepare and review financial statements, manage close activities, coordinate with external auditors, and contribute to budgeting and forecasting for leadership visibility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Strong understanding of US GAAP and financial reporting.
• Experience with month-end close, reconciliations, journal entries, and financial analysis.

Responsibilities

• Support the preparation and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting while ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable accounting standards.
• Perform month-end close activities including journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, and analysis of financial results.
• Research accounting matters and assist with documenting and implementing accounting policies and procedures.
• Analyze financial results, including budget-to-actual variances, cash flow, trends, and other key business drivers.
• Coordinate with external auditors by preparing schedules, gathering supporting documentation, responding to requests, and assisting with audit walkthroughs.
• Assist with internal control activities, including documentation, testing, process improvements, and maintaining accounting policies and procedures.
• Support budgeting and forecasting activities and provide financial analysis to management as needed.

The good faith compensation range is 90 – 110k DOE.
