Take a leading role in the transfer of new products from development to pilot production. Interface with all groups to ensure that new products are introduced on schedule and that production and cost goals are met. Actively participate with Design Engineering in the electrical architecture, system integration, and test strategy of new products and train Production to manufacture them.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provide technical expertise and leadership in the solution of difficult production, product, and process problems, especially at the system level. Resolution of these problems typically requires knowledge and understanding of electrical (power, signal integrity, controls, electronics), mechanical, and optical subsystems and their interactions in the fabrication, integration, test, and operation of finished camera systems.
  • Provide manufacturing support for electrical subsystem integration, including cameras, sensors, power distribution, cabling, grounding, and system‑level electrical test and troubleshooting.
  • Take a lead role in planning and carrying out successful transitions of new products from development to pilot production and on into full production in accordance with the New Product Introduction process. Identify needs for production resources, documentation, training, tooling, fixtures, test equipment, and lead or coordinate efforts to complete these activities on time and within budget. Play a lead role in make versus buy decisions. Report on progress on a regular basis.
  • Identify and capture opportunities for product, process, reliability, and cost improvements. Conduct testing as appropriate to verify that as‑produced product meets customer specifications and requirements in a consistent and reliable manner. Prioritize and lead efforts to implement improvements.

  • Play a lead role in design reviews from a Manufacturing Engineering standpoint. Verify that rigorous electrical, mechanical, and optical tolerance analyses have been conducted over the complete range of product operating conditions. Work with Purchasing to assure that multiple sources are available for all purchased parts.
  • Interact closely with Quality Assurance and Customer Service to analyze failures, identify root causes, and improve manufacturing processes and product designs accordingly.
Job Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related technical discipline required with 8+ years of relevant experience; Master's degree preferred.
  • In-depth understanding and hands‑on experience in electrical systems, system integration, and manufacturing support for complex technical products.
  • Experience supporting electrical integration, system test, or troubleshooting of imaging, sensor, or electro‑optical systems preferred.
  • Experience with infrared or Charge‑Coupled Device (CCD) camera systems preferred.
  • Experience with optics, mechanical, and systems engineering preferred.
  • Experience in leading new product introductions from Engineering to Manufacturing a plus.
