Job summary

Teledyne FLIR in Goleta, CA is recruiting for an electronics test technician responsible for supporting manufacturing operations. The role uses production tooling, test stations, and PCs to track materials and WIP while ensuring quality through final verification testing and packaging of camera assemblies.

You will document results, troubleshoot with engineering, and participate in continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or 2+ years of electronics industry experience.
  • Ability to read and understand written test procedures.
  • Must be able to read, write, and understand English to document test results.
  • Good manual dexterity.

Responsibilities

  • Performs electrical measurements and tests in accordance with test procedures and engineering specifications.
  • Set up and check out test stations and equipment.
  • Maintains accurate records of work performed, analyzes data collected, and reports results.
  • Removes, replaces, and assembles parts or assemblies as required.
  • Performs necessary touch up and cleaning of deliverable hardware.
  • Assists engineering in developing test procedures for new products.
  • Monitors consumables required to support test activities.
  • Maintain inventory of tooling and equipment on hand and advise on equipment required to meet production schedules including obsolete, repair or calibration status.
  • Perform other related duties and special assignments as required.

This position utilizes production tooling, computers, and specialized equipment to support manufacturing operations and track materials and work-in-process (WIP). Identifies, documents, and evaluates nonconforming materials, performing rework on discrepant or RMA materials as needed. Conducts final verification testing and packaging of camera assemblies to ensure product quality and compliance with specifications. Collaborates with coworkers, managers, and engineering to troubleshoot issues and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Job Qualifications

High school diploma or 2+ years of experience in electronics industry Able to understand mechanical and electrical concepts Able to read and understand written test procedures Able to have good manual dexterity Experience working with a computer and utilizing the Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, and Word) Must be able to read, write, and understand English to effectively communicate and document test results Must be able to lift up to 20 lbs., unassisted Must be able to push or pull up to 50 lbs., unassisted Must be able to sit/stand for extended periods of time Attention to Detail is required when performing measurements and tests Analytical Problem-Solving is required to assist with test failure analysis and troubleshoot and advise engineers of root cause failure Collaboration & Teamwork is required to effectively work with engineers and various support personnel

Desired Skills

A.A. or A.S. degree or equivalent experience ISO9001 experience Knowledge of ESD procedures

Actual compensation for successful candidates is carefully determined based on several factors including, but not limited to, location, local regulations (such as minimum wage), education/training, work experience, key skills, and type of position.
