Job summary

Reflexive Concepts seeks a Senior Systems Engineer to join our team at FANX in Maryland. You will perform cybersecurity assessments of large-scale DoD systems and provide technical leadership on the program.

You will guide a team of engineers, drive security and resiliency requirements, and participate in evaluating contractor proposals to strengthen mission capabilities.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of Systems Engineering experience required.
• BS degree in a STEM field; MS in STEM adds years for experience counting.
• 6 years as a Systems Engineer lead with cross-team leadership.
• Active TS/SCI with Full-Scope Polygraph (CI within 6 years).
• Zero Trust experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform cybersecurity assessments of large-scale DoD systems with an offensive mindset.
• Lead and mentor a team of engineers; ensure optimal use of skillsets.

Job description

Reflexive Concepts is seeking a skilled Senior Systems Engineer to join our team!

In this role, you will perform cybersecurity assessments of large-scale DoD systems and serve as a technical leader on the program. This position is located at FANX.

In this role you will:

• Perform cybersecurity assessments of large-scale DoD systems, utilizing an OCO (Offensive Cyber Operations) mindset to perform DCO (Defensive Cyber Operations) activities.
• Perform long-term, in-depth vulnerability assessments leveraging systems engineering principles and knowledge, utilizing any available information, including architecture diagrams, build specifications, design documentation, and systems architecture.
• Perform independent verification & validation of security requirements and capabilities, incorporating systems resiliency and security engineering concepts into acquisition documents (e.g., Performance Work Statements).
• Perform technical evaluations of contractor proposals for systems resiliency, security, and cybersecurity considerations.
• As a technical leader, Sr. Systems Engineers will report to you directly; ensure they are fully utilized, their best skillset is being used, and encourage them to exceed technical performance expectations. Participate in building a strong team with depth in the systems engineering process and how it can be utilized in different areas within the mission space.
• Leverage your interpersonal skills to foster relationship development with our customers to gain additional insights, information, and documentation to improve our ability to accomplish our mission.

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum 15 years of Systems Engineering experience (a BS degree in a STEM field accounts for 4 years and an MS in STEM counts for an additional 2 years)
• Relevant BS degree in a STEM field
• 6 years as a Systems Engineer lead with experience leading, managing, and collaborating with a broad range of organizations, groups, and teams
• Active TS/SCI with Full-Scope Polygraph (CI within 6 years)
• Zero Trust experience

Desired Qualifications:

• Cybersecurity certification (Sec+, CISSP, CEH, etc.)
• Familiarity with NIST SP 800-160
• Familiarity with INCOSE-defined life cycle systems engineering processesExperience with / knowledge of large-scale DoD systems
