Apex Systems is seeking a Top Secret w/ CI Poly cleared System Administrator to join our partner for a long-term contract located in Reston, VA.

Overview:

Job Position: Senior System Administrator

Job Type: Full-Time, W2, Long Term Contract

Job Location: Reston, VA

Shift/Schedule: M-F, Core Hours: 9-3

Targeted Start Date: 5/19

Clearance: Ability to obtain/maintain a TS/SCI with CI Poly

Daily Responsibilities:

  • Plans, designs, and implements infrastructure changes and system upgrades.
  • Manages and troubleshoots multiple VMware environments.
  • Windows Server and Linux administration, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Creates STIG compliant images for Windows Desktop, Windows Server, and Linux OS.
  • Creates, tests, and deploys software packages using software deployment products such as SCCM, PDQ, etc.
  • Provides expert level support and mentoring for Mid and Junior System Administrator personnel.
  • Develops and maintains installation and configuration procedures for system and software changes.
  • Utilizes scripting to automate common tasks.
  • Performs hardware maintenance/repair activities.
  • Ensures proper planning and execution of major projects/maintenance activities.
  • Provides advanced level administration and troubleshooting of Active Directory, GPO, DNS, DHCP, and Domain Controllers.

Must have:

  • At least 8 years of relevant experience.
  • Ability to write scripts using PowerShell and/or Bash.
  • Experience managing VMware, Nutanix, and other types of enterprise level Virtual Infrastructures.
  • Proficient in managing and troubleshooting Active Directory and Group Policy Object (GPO).
  • Must presently be 8570 compliant (IAT Level 2 preferred); must be 8570 compliant (IAT Level 2) by date of security indoctrination with any necessary continuing education (CE) for certification.

Nice to have:

  • Satellite server administration.
  • Ansible playbook writing.
  • Implementing STIGs.
  • Experience supporting a software configuration management and development environment.
