Job summary

LJA Engineering, Inc. in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a Survey Technician for LJA Surveying. You will prepare metes and bounds descriptions, exhibits, and mapping products while collaborating with experienced leaders.

Ideal candidates have 5–10 years of survey experience, CADD proficiency, and a valid Surveyor-in-Training certification from the Arizona Board. Strong communication and relationship-building skills with clients and internal teams are essential.

POSITION OVERVIEW

As a Survey Technician at LJA Surveying, you will be responsible for Preparing metes and bounds descriptions for boundary surveying projects, exhibits and various mapping products

A TYPICAL DAY MIGHT INCLUDE

• Gathers data used for creation of topographical maps
• Compile information necessary to stake projects for construction using engineering plans
• Compare survey computations with applicable standards in order to determine adequacy of data
• Collect information needed to carry out new surveys, using source maps, previous survey data, photographs, computer records and other relevant information
• Prepare topographic and contour maps of land surveyed, including site features and other relevant information such as charts, drawings, and survey notes

REQUIRED EDUCATION/LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS

• Surveyor-in-Training certification by the Arizona Board of Land Surveying, or

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• 5-10 years of survey experience
• CADD experience is required and DOT experience is a plus
• Solid proficiency with Microsoft Office programs
• Strong communication skills both oral and written
• Ability to build strong relationships with internal and external clients
