Summary

The Sr. Supply Planner will develop and maintain the Master Production Schedule for selected (or multiple) plants and species. This will be a daily plan for the next three weeks and weekly for weeks 4 – 52. The Senior Supply Planner is responsible for achieving the maximum return on assets including inventory levels. Additionally, this position will act in a “lead” function for direction and guidance to less experienced associates in the department.

The salary range for this position is $84,000.00 - $126,000.00 per year, based on experience and qualifications with annual bonus available (variable depending on performance).

Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Creates and maintains the optimum Master Production schedule. These plans must meet both the short and long term goals and support the Harvest S&OP process.
• Creates and maintains the optimum inventory profile to ensure fulfillment of customer requirements, taking into account forecast accuracy, schedule compliance and production smoothing requirements.
• Reviews forecast with Demand Planning to review issues such as product mix or capacity constraints. Examples would be identification of excess product in the future or feature requirements exceeding capacity at the default plant and assignment of volume to alternate facilities. Senior Supply Planners will assign the default plant to new customers after reviewing the full impact of the additional volume.
• Works as part of the Sales and Operations Planning team to review the forward plan and past performance. This will also involve a constant dialogue with respective plants, Demand Planning, Live Planning, Order Management and Distribution.
• Constantly monitors and reviews the supply, including all the automatic, overnight processes and interfaces to and from SAP. Daily exception reports will be produced both systems exceptions where parameters are missing and process exceptions, for example where supply may not meet demand or stock is low.
• Monitors exceptions on a daily basis and communicates with Order Management as to the most effective solution. Advises of any modifications to the supply plan and options for utilizing inventory.

Experience Requirements

Bachelors degree in a related discipline plus 6 -7 years related work experience or in the absence of a Bachelors degree, total work experience equals 14 years.

• Requires knowledge of production planning and optimizing within constraints.
• Requires above average numerate and analytical skills and a good working knowledge of Supply Chain.
• Knowledge of SAP as it relates to inventory and the master production schedule.
• Sound business and industry experience essential plus advanced working knowledge of computers, including Windows, Lotus SmartSuite and an understanding of how data is passed between systems.
• Must be able to travel overnight to customer, vendor and plant locations.

Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements

Position is mostly sedentary but may require occasional moving to other offices or buildings.

When in a plant environment:

Exposure primarily consists of wet and moist floors which include metal and plastic grating surfaces. May be exposed to temperatures of 28 degrees to 100 degrees Fahrenheit with both ambient and 100% humidity. May handle product 25 degrees to 50 degrees Fahrenheit. May be exposed to noise ranges of 50 db. to 110 db. May be exposed to all chemicals used in poultry, food, processing facility.
