Job Description

My client, located in Montgomery County, PA, is seeking a Sr. Structural Engineer. The ideal candidate will perform structural analyses, design, and calculations, working with various materials including steel, stainless steel, aluminum, concrete & precast concrete, masonry, and timber. You will manage multiple projects, overseeing engineering schedules, budgets, performance, quality of engineering solutions, and deliverables. Additionally, you will supervise, develop, and assign work to 1 Jr. Engineer and 1-2 CAD Designers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil, Structural, or Mechanical Engineering (required)
• PE licensure (required); if not in PA, must be able to obtain PA licensure
• Minimum 8 years of industry experience
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and structural analysis tools (e.g., EnerCalc, RAM, RISA, STAAD)
• Revit experience is a plus
• Design and analysis experience with steel and concrete materials (required)
• Experience with stainless steel, aluminum, precast concrete, masonry, and timber (a plus)
• Experience in commercial/industrial, education, government, healthcare, municipal, and residential projects
• Minimal travel (~2 hours from office); valid driver’s license; ability to walk around project sites
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities

• Design and analyze structural systems using AutoCAD and Revit to ensure compliance with engineering standards
• Collaborate with project managers to develop project schedules and manage timelines
• Conduct geotechnical assessments and prepare detailed reports for stakeholders
• Utilize FEA software for structural analysis and optimization
