Job summary

WellSky Corporation is seeking a Sr Staff Software Engineer to lead the design and implementation of large-scale, highly available software systems. You will guide cross-functional teams from concept to deployment, align technical solutions with business goals, and promote best practices across the engineering organization.

The role emphasizes driving innovation, adopting new technologies including AI capabilities, and ensuring code quality and reliability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
• 12–15 years related work experience.
• Proficient with C#, SQL Server, Vue, VB.NET.
• Proficient with Cloud technologies (GCP).
• Hands on experience with Claude Code or similar AI tooling.

Job description

The Sr Staff Software Engineer is responsible for all stages of the software development lifecycle using a variety of technologies and tools to build impactful software solutions. The scope of this job includes building and optimizing comprehensive solutions that prioritize end-user efficiency and experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the design and implementation of large-scale, complex software systems that increase high availability, scalability, and reliability.
• Lead cross-functional teams through all stages of development, from concept to deployment and post-launch monitoring.
• Collaborate with solution managers, designers, data scientists, and other stakeholders to define requirements and design technical solutions that align with business goals. Champion technical excellence and work to align engineering initiatives with WellSky strategy.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement, knowledge sharing, and high-quality software engineering practices by providing technical guidance to experienced engineers and leaders to elevate the team’s capabilities and skill sets.
• Lead efforts to drive the adoption of best practices across engineering teams, promote solution innovation, and research and evaluate new technologies, tools, AI capabilities, and methodologies that improve the efficiency, scalability, and performance of WellSky solutions.
• Influence the use of automated testing, continuous integration, and delivery (CI/CD) processes, and promote high standards of code quality, testing, and operational reliability.
• LeverageAItools and platforms as an integral part of daily responsibilities to enhance decision-making, streamline workflows, and drive data-informed outcomes.
• Perform other job duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent work experience
• 12 - 15 years related work experience
• Proficient with C#, SQL Server, Vue, VB.NET
• Proficient with Cloud technologies (preferably GCP)
• Hands on experience with Claude Code or similar AI tooling

Preferred Qualifications:

• Healthcare industry experience
