The US base salary range for this full-time position is $243,750 - $406,250 plus bonus eligibility and other elements of our total rewards package. The range represents the amount BNSF | Tech reasonably expects to pay based on the role's level, scope, and responsibilities. Individual compensation and level of position offered are determined by the hiring location and additional factors including but not limited to skills, experience, and education. In addition to base pay, BNSF offers a comprehensive benefits package.

Role Responsibilities: Identity and Access Management Engineer

• Lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of IAM systems to ensure secure and efficient access.
• Manage user identities, including provisioning, deprovisioning, and lifecycle management.
• Implement automation in access management and identity systems.
• Enforce access controls and security policies to protect sensitive data and resources.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
• Perform audits and monitor IAM systems to identify and address security vulnerabilities.
• Provide ongoing support for IAM systems and resolve user access issues.
• Stay updated with emerging technologies and industry trends, applying them to operations.

Basic Qualifications

• Authorized to work in the US.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• At least 12+ years of experience in IAM engineering, with success in enterprise solutions.
• Experience with multiple IAM systems and technologies such as C, C++, Java, LDAP, Active Directory, etc.
• Familiarity with cloud services, system architecture, DevOps, automation, and monitoring tools.
• Strong problem-solving skills and knowledge of integration with development tools.

Preferred Qualifications

• IAM certifications are a plus.
• Knowledge in areas like Identity as a Service, mTLS, OpenID Connect, FIDO2, database systems, enterprise RDBMS, and systems design.
