Job summary

Intone Inc. is seeking a Senior Staff Software Engineer for a remote contract position in the United States. You will lead an enterprise modernization program, driving migration from WebSphere to OpenShift/Kubernetes and Axway MFT replacements.

The role demands deep Java expertise, OpenShift/Kubernetes, and strong AWS and DevOps experience. You will own delivery plans, shape architecture, and mentor engineers across security, product, and operations teams.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of software engineering experience.
• Technical Lead experience on enterprise production systems.
• Deep Java expertise.
• Experience migrating from IBM WebSphere or other Java EE platforms.
• Strong OpenShift/Kubernetes experience.
• AWS experience (S3, IAM, SQS/SNS, EventBridge, Lambda, etc.).
• Managed File Transfer experience (Axway, MOVEit, IBM Sterling, GoAnywhere, or similar).
• TypeScript/Node.js proficiency.
• Kafka and/or IBM MQ experience.
• REST and GraphQL API design and implementation.
• PostgreSQL experience.
• CI/CD and cloud-native architecture knowledge.
• Experience leading large-scale migrations or platform retirement initiatives.
