Job summary

BuzzClan in Alpharetta is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to manage Linux-based platforms, cloud and CI/CD pipelines. The role focuses on OpenShift/Kubernetes, IBM BPM/ODM, WebSphere Liberty, and related tooling to keep platforms secure, scalable and up-to-date.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, implement automation, monitor health, and support deployments while ensuring compliance and incident response during on-call coverage.

Qualifications

• Experience with IBM BPM and IBM ODM in enterprise environments.
• Strong WebSphere experience and scripting skills (Bash / Python / Ksh / Perl).
• Proficient in Linux (CentOS/RedHat) and Windows, with CI/CD tooling.

Responsibilities

• Manage complex platforms including private/public cloud and middleware like BPM/ODM.
• Support large technology projects, hygiene activities, upgrades, and rollouts at scale.
• Collaborate with development teams to containerize apps; ensure OpenShift/Kubernetes scalability and security.
• Define standards and integrate with CI/CD pipelines using UrbanCode Deploy, Harness, Jenkins, Artifactory, HashiCorp tools.

Job Description:-

The Platform Management team is part of the Wealth Management Organization. This position is for a senior level platform engineer who is responsible for managing technology platforms used by the division such as operating systems, public and private cloud, web, and middleware components like Business Process Management, Operational Decision Manager and Process Federation Server.etc. The resource will ensure that the platforms are up to date in support lifecycle, patching, and risk remediation. Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams. Deep knowledge and expertise of Linux, Kubernetes, Openshift, Github, Teamcity, Jenkins, Artifactory, Websphere Liberty, Eclipse IBM BPM, IBM ODM, Java and DB2 LUW.

Primary responsibilities

• Manages complex platforms and frameworks like private and public cloud, middleware platforms like Business Process Management, Operational Decision Manager, and Process Federation Server.
• Supports large technology projects, hygiene activities, upgrades, rollouts at scale.
• Works closely with development teams to containerize applications, and ensuring the scalability, performance, and security of the OpenShift cluster, with expertise in Kubernetes concepts like deployments, pods, services, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Works closely with cross-functional teams to define standards, execute POCs, and integrate with CI/CD pipelines, utilizing tools such as UrbanCode Deploy, Harness, Jenkins, Artifactory, and HashiCorp products.
• Monitors platform health, identify and resolve issues related to application deployments, scaling, and network connectivity.
• Has deep understanding of Kubernetes core concepts like pods, deployments, services, ingress controllers, and scaling mechanisms.
• Ensures compliance with industry standards when deploying applications on the platform.
• Implements security best practices within the OpenShift environment, including role-based access control and image scanning.
• Utilizes DevOps tools such as Jenkins, Teamcity, GitHub, and Ansible to manage application deployments.
• Provides guidance and support to development teams in adopting Kubernetes best practices and utilizing the Kubernetes platform effectively.
• Resolves production incidents quickly while maintaining service level agreements. Provides on-call coverage to support major activities and events.
• Coordinates with application dev teams, vendors, and business, as necessary.
• Support release deployments and collaborate with application teams to deliver data quality and governance objectives.
