Position Summary

The Sr. Staff accountant is a key member of the finance team responsible for managing critical elements of the Company’s financial accounting and reporting systems. Primary areas include general ledger accounting, inventory, fixed assets, and treasury management. Reports to the Accounting Manager and collaborates closely with other team members and senior management.

Key Responsibilities

1. Perform general ledger functions including journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis.
2. Prepare balance sheet reconciliations for inventory, PCard, Accounts Receivable, and Accounts Payable.
3. Lead annual physical inventory processes across two sites.
4. Manage standard costs roll and ongoing cost updates.
5. Handle intercompany transactions within Fortive and Gems entities.
6. Assist with SEC, tax, audit, and external reporting, including control documentation and tax schedules.
7. Drive process improvement initiatives.
8. Prepare weekly productivity reports for operations.
9. Participate in Sarbanes-Oxley testing and remediation.
10. Conduct financial analysis and prepare various accruals.
11. Analyze quarterly inventory reserves.
12. Ensure monthly KPI metrics are met.

Required Skills/Experience

• 3+ years in general accounting, preferably manufacturing.

This role is onsite in Plainville, CT. Salary range: $71,100 - $132,100.
