Job summary

The Charles Schwab Corporation is hiring a Senior Specialist Software Engineer in Retirement Plan Services Technology in Ohio. The role focuses on delivering high-quality software across design, development, testing, deployment, tooling, and support.

You will work within a collaborative agile team to implement retirement plan administration applications, automate testing, and ensure high availability. Schwab emphasizes growth, flexibility with Hybrid Work, and a strong client-first culture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 3-5 years of .NET design and development experience.
• Demonstrated expertise in object-oriented development, Microsoft SQL Server, SOAP and REST web services, CI/CD.
• A strong knowledge of, and demonstrated experience in, software development, testing, maintenance, and support.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Assist with developing software applications to support retirement plan administration.
• Participate in an agile team of developers, testers, product owners and scrum masters.
• Participate in discussions and engage other team members to flesh out system requirements where minimal information is provided.
• Design and build automated tests.

As a Senior Specialist Software Engineer in Retirement Plan Services Technology, you will work with your fellow team members to consistently produce high-quality output by participating in all facets of software delivery, including design, development, testing, deployment, tooling, and support. You will serve as a strong, versatile, hands‑on software engineer, delivering solutions that meet business objectives in a flexible, collaborative, and rapidly changing environment.

More specifically, in this role you will:

• Assist with developing software applications to support retirement plan administration

• Participate in an agile team of developers, testers, product owners and scrum masters

What you have

Required Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications

• Hands‑on experience with Agile (Scrum/Kanban)

• Experience with Test Driven Development and automated testing design

• Experience with the Atlassian suite of products (Confluence, JIRA, Bamboo)

• Familiarity with Cloud Platforms such as PCF, GCP, and AWS

• Financial Services industry experience
