Job summary

The Charles Schwab Corporation is seeking a mid-level software engineer to join the Thematic Investing Client Experience team. You will contribute to trading components, drive test automation, and help evolve our web platforms with JavaScript (Angular) and Java (Spring Boot).

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, implement reusable client services, and participate in end-to-end testing to ensure robust, scalable software for client-facing experiences. Hybrid work model offered in SF.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • 4+ years professional experience in software engineering
  • 3+ years of Java and JavaScript
  • 3+ years of test-driven development and quality automation.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and refactor core client services using JavaScript (Angular) for frontend and Java (Spring Boot) for backend.
  • Implement and optimize end-to-end testing solutions to ensure seamless functionality across systems.
  • Build and maintain test automation suites for both frontend and backend components.

TheThematic Investing Client Experience team is looking for a talented technicalhands-onSoftware Developer to buildinternal and external client-facing interactive web components. This position will be focused on contributing to a trading component team in development practices, operational standards, platform evolution and platform resiliency. This role will require a high level of responsibility and accountability, and yet has a support structure vital for development growth while continuing to build and grow our Thematic Investing platforms.

We are looking for a motivated mid-level software engineer with strong skills in JavaScript, Angular, Java, Spring Boot, and test automation. You will be responsible for building, maintaining, and refactoring core client services, with a focus on both feature development and testing. The ideal candidate will have experience in end-to-end testing and will play a key role in delivering high-quality software through robust test automation.

What you have

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • 4+ years professional experience in software engineering
  • 3+ years of Java and JavaScript
  • 3+ years of test-driven development and quality automation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficiency in JavaScript and Angular, with experience in developing reusable components and services.
  • Solid knowledge of Java and Spring Boot for backend development, with an understanding of API design and maintenance. Experience in end-to-end testing frameworks such as WebDriver and Selenium.
  • Familiarity with test automation practices and tools.
  • Experience in refactoring and maintaining legacy code to improve performance and reliability.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
