Job summary

The Charles Schwab Corporation in Ann Arbor is seeking a software engineer to design, develop, and deliver scalable solutions within an Agile Scrum team.

You will mentor peers, support production systems, and collaborate with product owners to shape software requirements. Strong Java/Spring and frontend Angular/TypeScript skills are preferred, along with REST API experience and a background in finance services.

Qualifications

  • 4+ years with Java, Spring/Spring Boot in a production environment
  • Experience with Angular and TypeScript front-end development
  • REST API design and implementation in transactional systems
  • C#/.NET ASP.NET Core experience
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum practices and TDD/automation

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and deliver software as part of an Agile Scrum team
  • Mentor and coach junior team members
  • Support production systems and triage issues to ensure client stability
  • Collaborate with product owners to define strategy and scope of requirements
  • Deliver high-quality software with automated tests and secure, fault-tolerant architectures

What you have

To ensure that we have fulfilled our promise of 'challenging the status quo,' this role has specific qualifications that successful candidates should have.

  • Design, develop, and deliver solutions as part of an Agile Scrum team.
  • Leverage understanding of software development principles and practices to help mentor and coach junior team members.
  • Support and triage issues and participate in production support to help develop resilient and secure systems to prevent issues that impact on our clients.
  • Collaborate with product owners and business stakeholders to define strategy and scope of software requirements (decompose stories, design features, and prioritize tasks)
  • Utilize automated software test tools and frameworks such as test-driven development to achieve the highest quality in software deliver
  • Bachelor's degree or advanced degrees in Computer Scienceor related field
  • 4+ years of experience with frameworks such as Java, Java Core, Spring, Springboot
  • Strong Javabackend experiences including designing highly fault tolerant and scalable systems
  • Strong experience in front end development using Angular and TypeScript
  • Experience developing/managing REST Web Service API(s) in a transaction processing environment
  • Curious about new technologies and processes. You always seek to improve yourself and everyone around you and proactively seek and share knowledge with others outside of your organization
  • Ability to translate requirements into designs
  • 2 + years experience working with building automated test tools
  • Professional experience with source code repository tools, such as Bitbucket or GitHub
  • Strong communicationskills – you balance written and verbal communication to clearly share your perspective with others on the team
  • Experience working in an Agile team
  • Experience deploying applications into PCF
  • Experience hosting applications in GCP
  • Relational database experience
  • Experience in Financial Services
  • Hands on experience with application and service development using C# and .Net frameworks (ASP.NET, .Net Core)
  • Experience creating and working with AI agents to improve team efficiency and velocity
