Join the Office of the Corporate Secretary (OCS) at New York Life. You will work directly with the Chairman and CEO, assisting with a wide variety of matters. Your responsibilities include developing and administering policies, procedures, and legal advice for the Chairman and CEO when engaging with the Board of Directors, its Standing Committees, and the Executive Management Committee (EMC). Become part of OCS to collaborate with company leaders and contribute to the company's future growth.

Role Overview:

The Security Lieutenant will ensure all security policies and daily operational procedures are followed. Officers will execute the Corporate Security vision, mission, and goals as delegated by the Security Director.

What You'll Do:

  • Develop work charts, process payroll, manage vacation and holiday schedules, and handle time-off requests.
  • Review and validate overtime and hours worked by security personnel.
  • Coordinate with building personnel during emergencies and drills, including assuming incident management responsibilities during fires, medical emergencies, floods, explosions, power outages, bomb threats, suspicious packages, emergencies on executive floors, and other incidents.
  • Supervise proprietary and contract security guards, ensuring daily operations adhere to policies and procedures.
  • Oversee building fire and life safety personnel and systems.
  • Drive the executive fleet when necessary.

What You'll Bring:

  • At least 10 years of recent law enforcement experience in a supervisory role.
  • Willingness to work shift schedules.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic applications.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Valid NYC or NYS pistol carry permit.
  • Ability to obtain NYC/FDNY Fire Safety Certificate and Local Law #26 Emergency Action Plan certificate within 6 months of hire, with a solid understanding of these laws.
  • Knowledge of Software House C-Cure system is helpful.
  • Experience in corporate security within a large company preferred.
  • Ability to work independently, make critical decisions, and operate with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to prepare clear, concise reports.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with other departments, contractors, and outside agencies.

Actual base salary will be determined based on experience, skills, qualifications, and location. Employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus and may participate in incentive programs.

Pay Transparency

Salary Range: $65,000 - $90,000

Overtime eligible: Nonexempt

Discretionary bonus eligible: Yes

Sales bonus eligible: No
