How you will make a difference:
You will provide expert HR advice on French employment law to a diverse range of Global Employment Outsourcing (GEO) clients and workers. You'll draw on your deep legal knowledge to navigate complex workplace issues, manage high-stakes litigation, and lead negotiations with external legal counsel. Your expertise will be key in helping global businesses make informed, strategic decisions in line with France’s employment regulations.
- Lead complex employment litigations and guide clients toward effective resolutions.
- Serve as the go-to expert for all HR matters across the employee lifecycle.
- Ensure seamless onboarding for GEO workers in collaboration with the Operations team.
- Drive the delivery of HR processes; handbooks, policies, and procedures - with full legal compliance.
- Draft and manage compliant employment contracts (starters, leavers, transfers, extensions).
- Handle sensitive HR matters including performance, terminations, and employment transfers.
- Advise clients on career progression, promotions, and salary benchmarks.
- Oversee offboarding processes, including retirements and voluntary/involuntary exits.
- Support and coach management on HR responsibilities and best practices.
- Maintain and update HR policies and procedures, ensuring clarity and compliance.
- Safeguard personal employee data in accordance with local legislation.
- Contribute to cross-functional HR projects and initiatives as assigned.
- Identify process gaps and lead improvements to mitigate HR related risks.
- Keep teams informed on changes in French employment law and implications for the business.
- Partner with internal teams to provide strategic HR insights.
- Work with benefits providers to offer compliant packages and update cost forecasts.
- Manage monthly payroll with local partners, ensuring accuracy and legal adherence.
What will give you an advantage:
- Expertise in French Labor Law, with the confidence to act as the subject matter expert on all things employment related in France.
- Proven HR experience, especially in navigating complex employment terminations—including individual exits, collective redundancies, mutual agreements and litigation.
- Experience in employment relations, with a strong track record of advising on sensitive and complicated workplace issues.
- Fluency in both French and English - essential for working across global teams and clients (verbal and written).
- Background in consultancy or portage is a plus, though not required.
- Skilled in analysing and solving problems, with a proactive mindset and a sharp eye for risk and resolution.
- Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills, with the ability to build trust and influence.
- Highly organised and results-driven, capable of managing competing priorities and meeting deadlines with precision.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management, able to interact effectively with employees and leaders at every level.
- Hands-on experience with payroll, expense management, employment contracts, and compliance with legal requirements including occupational medicine and life insurance.
- Exposure to skills development, HR planning, and effective sickness management strategies.
- Passion for being the go-to expert on French HR legislation, ready to guide others with clarity and confidence.
