KBR’s National Security Solutions team in the United States is seeking a senior systems engineer to provide technical oversight of SDA Tranche 3 ground segment development, testing, integration, and operations. The role demands deep expertise in satellite-ground interactions and a track record in systems engineering.
The position requires collaboration with Government, Military, SETA, FFRDC and Industry stakeholders, and ensures readiness for complex space defense programs.

Provide technical over sight and leadership to SDA Tranche 3 ground segment development, testing, integration, and operations.
Coordinate the development of satellite system requirements; develop enterprise, system, functional, performance, and interface requirements; and consider the impact of the satellites’ requirements to the ground system, including ground entry point acquisitions, operations center set up and maintenance, and ground software solutions.
Resolve highly complex and multidimensional problems requiring consideration of variables that have multiple aspects of the project/program.
Oversee integration and test of satellites into the SDA’s ground system network design and with the other satellite vendors to create a mesh network.
Assess technical maturity and risk of necessary changes and updates to ground systems to enable overall architecture capabilities.
Coordinate with cross-functional teams (i.e. Government, Military, SETA, FFRDC and Industry) and external stakeholders.
Ability to work in fast paced environment with excellent oral and written communication skills.
Must have an AI&T background to “collaborate with engineering and requirements subject matter experts to coordinate, author, review, and revise test plans, test procedures, data management and analysis plans, and test reporting as part of SDA’s test enterprise.
Must have experience coordinating logistics for test execution and perform day-of-test activities in support of satellite vehicle and ground system integration.
Masters degree in STEM (science, technical, engineering, math) or related discipline
The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, abilities and/or experience and in consideration of internal parity.
