Job summary

Current Lighting is seeking a Sr Software Manager for Enterprise and Mobile Applications in Round Rock, TX. This on-site role leads a distributed software team delivering cloud-connected IoT lighting controls and building management solutions.

You will oversee end-to-end software life cycle, collaborate across cross-functional teams, and shape product strategy using the latest AI-assisted development practices. This is a senior leadership role demanding strong technical and people skills.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT or an Engineering related discipline.
  • 5+ years hands-on software development experience with web-based applications.
  • 5+ years hands-on experience with back-end technologies - C#.NET, Java, etc.
  • 3+ years developing for the Linux/Ubuntu platform.
  • 3+ years deploying to the cloud.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage geographically dispersed software development team.
  • Lead the development and support of scalable enterprise and cloud applications.
  • Lead development of high-performing and reliable web and mobile applications.
  • Assess and distil product marketing requirements into producible epics and user stories.
  • Drive performance and efficiency by fostering collaborative team environment and AI-assisted processes.
  • Facilitate timely project completion and product delivery by removing roadblocks and aligning scope, cost and design constraints.

Sr Software Manager - Enterprise and Mobile Applications

Current is seeking a Sr Software Manager - Enterprise and Mobile Applications to join our progressive anddynamic fast-paced enterprise software team. These are exciting times - our industry and user expectations are changing and so are we! We are developing the next generation of world class Internet of Things (IoT) connected lighting controls and building management system. This is a hands-on leadership role that will directly contribute to the development and expansion of our cutting-edge cloud connected IoT applications and offerings with the latest software technologies and tools. You will be part of ourinnovative technology design center located in either Round Rock, TX, a hi-tech hub north of Austin.

We are looking for a talented and creative problem solver. You will be responsible for complete software development life cycle. This will require a high degree of collaboration between highly talented, cross-functional, and geographically dispersed development teams to understand the business needs, propose and develop product solutions.

This will be an on-site position in Round Rock; unfortunately we are not offering sponsorship at this time.

Essential Functions
  • Lead and manage geographically dispersed software development team.
  • Lead the development and support of scalable enterprise and cloud applications
  • Lead development of high-performing and reliableweb and mobile applications
  • Assess and distil product marketing requirements into producible epics and user stories
  • Drive performance and efficiency by fostering collaborative team environment, effective use of AI tools and software development processes
  • Facilitate timely project completion and product delivery by identifying and removing technical roadblocks, running design reviews, reconciling marketing requirements within schedule, cost and design constraints, influencing task execution priorities across teams
  • Research, assess and adapt to new technologies necessary for future enhancements of products
  • Protect intellectual property through patent disclosures and applications
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT or an Engineering related discipline
  • 5+years of hands-on software development experience with web-based applications
  • 5+yearsof hands-on experience with back-end technologies - C#.NET, Java, etc.
  • 3+yearsof experience developing for the Linux/Ubuntu platform
  • 3+yearsof experience deploying to the cloud
Preferred Qualifications
  • Working knowledge of database design, SQL Queries, and transactions
  • Experience incorporating AI LLM models in product design and development
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity requirements and experience with vulnerability and penetration testing
  • Familiarity of mobile app development using Flutter
  • Sound understanding of Agile development processes
  • Knowledge of server configurations, including Nginx and Apache configurations

  • Working knowledge of development best-practices, methodologies, processes, and technologies
  • Expert ability to apply analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to support and influence technical decisions
  • Ability to work both independently and within a team
Compensation

The position has a compensation package inclusive of base, bonus (if eligible), benefits, 401k contribution, time off, recognition awards and more. This salary range is $150,000-$180,000.
