Broadridge Trading and Connectivity Solutions (BTCS), an innovator and leading provider of financial software, is seeking a senior software developer in the San Francisco Bay Area.

We are looking for an experienced senior software developer to join the NYFIX Matching development team within BTCS. NYFIX Matching is an innovative product that enables investment managers and brokers to complete their post-trade processing immediately after trade execution. It uses the FIX protocol to achieve real-time performance and is provided to clients as SaaS. We are expanding the NYFIX Matching development team to build on our success. This is a great opportunity to be part of a successful and growing team, working on technologies that process thousands of FIX messages per second.

Work Mode: The team follows a hybrid work schedule with typically one or two days in the office in Walnut Creek, CA each week. The development team also provides Level 3 production support for the software delivered, so team members may occasionally be requested to participate in calls outside normal business hours when Level 2 operations teams require immediate assistance.

Responsibilities

• Participate with other product stakeholders in roadmap discussions, requirements review, and sprint meetings.
• Own design, development, and testing of new product features, including unit and integration testing.
• Troubleshoot and resolve reported issues.
• Develop tools used by Deployment, Onboarding, and Support teams.
• Provide third-level production support, including occasional outside regular business hours.
• Research and implement technologies to scale the system as demands grow.
• Mentor junior team members.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

• 10+ years of Java programming experience.
• BS or equivalent degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Experience with Java-based technologies: JEE, ActiveMQ, Spring, Hibernate.
• Experience with databases: PostgreSQL, Oracle, etc.
• Extensive SQL experience.
• Experience with JavaScript, HTML, CSS.
• Working knowledge of Linux systems.
• Fluency in English.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Being proactive, self-motivated, and a fast learner.
• Ability to work independently and under pressure.

Preferred Qualifications

• Financial services industry experience.
• Experience building web-based SaaS interfaces using React or similar technologies.
• Experience with Agile methodologies.
• Experience in financial technology, including FIX protocol.
• Experience with document-oriented databases.
• Experience handling large data volumes for analytics.
