Senior Software Engineer | Columbus, OH

Pay: $78.98 - $110.00/hour

Contract: 1 year with up to a possible 2 year extension

Location: Columbus, OH 43215

Work Arrangement: Hybrid

We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to support system analysis, software development, testing, DevOps, and Agile delivery activities in a fast-paced environment. This position will work across technical development, application support, business analysis, and Agile delivery processes.

IMPORTANT LOCATION REQUIREMENT:

Candidates must already be local to Columbus, Ohio at the time of resume submission. Candidates who would need to relocate will not be considered due to an immediate hiring need.

Work Arrangement:

• This is a hybrid position
• During onboarding and training, expected to be onsite approximately 4 days per week
• Training is expected to last approximately 2 months
• Following completion of training, the position transitions to 3 days onsite and 2 days working from home per week
• Candidates must be local to the Columbus, OH area when submitted

Key Responsibilities:

Analysis and Design:

• Perform technical analysis of new and existing systems
• Triage and analyze technical issues and tickets
• Develop technical design documentation and related materials
• Estimate work effort
• Provide guidance and support to team members working with legacy systems

Development and Testing:

• Perform coding and configuration
• Conduct code reviews and peer consultations
• Develop and execute unit tests
• Support system, integration, and user acceptance testing
• Develop test plans and provide testing support
• Manage and resolve software defects
• Support technical design and implementation activities

Operations and Support:

• Support Tier 2 technical support activities
• Resolve escalated technical and production support issues
• Use and enhance operations and development tools
• Plan and execute software upgrades and replacements
• Support ongoing application stability and system availability
• Execute ITSM and ITIL processes
• Support production operations and service-level requirements

Business Analysis / Agile:

• Develop an understanding of assigned business processes, functions, roles, and requirements
• Collaborate with Business teams to gather and clarify requirements
• Define acceptance criteria
• Create user stories and maintain prioritized product backlogs
• Clarify requirements and resolve issues between Business and technical teams
• Test delivered solutions against acceptance criteria
• Support Product Owners and Business teams throughout the Agile delivery process
• Support the adoption and execution of Agile processes
• Facilitate Agile ceremonies, including daily scrums, sprint planning, sprint demos, and retrospectives
• Collaborate with Product Owners to manage product backlogs
• Identify and remove obstacles affecting the Agile team
• Support continuous improvement of Agile processes

Coordination and Administration:

• Coordinate daily activities with team members
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to other team members
• Support release planning and off-cycle development activities
• Identify, resolve, and escalade risks and issues
• Support resource planning and time tracking processes
• Collaborate with IT and Business teams on technical solutions and project activities

Required Qualifications:

• 5-10 years of IT experience
• 3-5 years of application development experience in a Microsoft environment
• Strong knowledge of software development concepts, architectures, and processes
• Experience with application development and technical analysis
• Experience working with databases and common IT technologies
• Experience with Agile methodologies and practices
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to communicate complex technical topics to technical and business stakeholders
• Experience working with cross-functional teams
• Ability to work in an evolving Agile environment

Technical Skills:

• SAP and/or Siebel
• Software development tools and technologies

Nice to Have:

• 1-2 years of Financial Services industry experience
• Familiarity with financial services lease and loan applications
• Experience working in a multi-location or international environment
• Experience supporting legacy applications and systems
• Experience with DevOps and IT operations
• Experience performing Business Analyst responsibilities in an Agile environment
• Experience serving as a Scrum Master or supporting Scrum Master responsibilities
