Job description

The NISC IV program at Leidos is seeking a Sr. Software Developer to provide specialized expertise in support of the Federal Aviation Agency (FAA) Office of Performance Analysis, Data Integration and Modeling Group. You will use your expertise in SQL to review and develop software applications related to the operation and modernization of the National Airspace System (NAS). This support will also include innovative methodologies, processes, architectures, and technologies that support the transformation of FAA raw data into meaningful, useful, and actionable information to support business decisions.

Primary Responsibilities

• Assist AJR-G in developing software applications and cloud solutions for existing databases.
• Support the development of a shared platform for modular system integration.
• Provide technical and subject matter expertise, along with program management support for system design and analysis.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 8-12 years of relevant experience, or Master's with 6-10 years; or equivalent work experience without a degree.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Excellent communication skills, capable of handling multiple tasks and deadlines.
• Solid experience with SQL and/or Nifi development tools.
• Experience with Git/Bitbucket for configuration management.
• Familiarity with Jira for workflow management.
• Knowledge of FAA’s Knowledge Services Network (KSN) and SWIM data sources.
• Experience with Microsoft Office including MS Teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience developing 24/7 operational systems.
• Experience with AWS cloud services.
• Knowledge of containerization for software components.
