Senior ServiceNow Developer – IT Asset Management

Pay Range: $110,681.00 - $156,337.00 per year (New Jersey)
Role: The Senior ServiceNow Application Developer IT Asset Management (ITAM) serves as a senior-level technical authority within the enterprise ServiceNow platform, with deep specialization in Hardware Asset Management Pro (HAM Pro) and Software Asset Management (SAM). The role is responsible for the architecture, configuration, automation, and governance of the IT Asset Management capability across its full lifecycle, ensuring platform integrity, financial accuracy, audit readiness, and regulatory compliance in a highly regulated healthcare environment. As a hands‑on technical expert and platform steward, this position optimizes asset costs, improves CMDB accuracy, and enables ITSM and ITOM-driven operational excellence.
Qualifications
- Minimum: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or programming preferred, or relevant work experience.
- ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA) and Certified Application Development (CAD) required.
- ServiceNow CIS HAM, SAM, ITSM, or ITOM certification.
- ITIL v4 (preferred).
Work Experience
- 5+ years experience developing and operating ServiceNow; 2+ years in a senior developer role.
- Up-to-date knowledge of programming languages: JavaScript, SQL, HTML, CSS.
- Knowledge of ITIL processes.
- Proficiency in ServiceNow applications: ITSM, HRSD, ITOM, CMDB.
- Knowledge of REST APIs, microservices, and other backend development.
- Working knowledge of database systems.

Responsibilities
- Design, develop, install, and troubleshoot ServiceNow applications.
- Own the end-to-end IT Asset Management architecture within ServiceNow.
- Automate HAM Pro processes: procurement orchestration, receiving, inventory, asset lifecycle, transfers, disposals.
- Automate SAM processes: entitlement management, license compliance, software normalization, reconciliation, audit defense.
- Develop and maintain integrations.
- Continuously update knowledge of current ServiceNow functionality and future releases.
- Assist in training, documentation, and support.
- Identify and resolve bugs to ensure platform functions as designed.
- Lead complex development using Business Rules, Script Includes, Client Scripts, UI Policies, Flow Designer, Integration Hub/Workflow Data Fabric.
- Design and maintain REST/SOAP integrations with endpoint management platforms and vendor management tools.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
