Role Overview
As a Senior Service Technician, you will be an integral part of the service team, responsible for commissioning and performing preventative and corrective maintenance on SolBank Storage Power Blocks (SPB). The role also requires fulfillment of obligations under long‑term service agreements for battery energy storage system (BESS) projects. Candidates must be willing to travel extensively to serve project sites across the United States and have experience with BESS or renewable power generation equipment in a service environment.
Responsibilities
- Commission SolBank Storage Power Blocks
- Perform preventative and corrective maintenance of SPBs to adhere to warranty requirements
- Manage obligations for BESS equipment under LTSA’s, including Energy Storage Cabinets, Power Conversion Stations, Ring Main Units/Switchgear, Transformers, SCADA, and networking devices
- Provide onsite diagnostic, troubleshooting, and hands‑on support to maintain equipment and meet availability and capacity guarantees
- Oversee and supervise sub‑contractors on site when required
- Assist in developing standard operating procedures and processes
- Complete work order documentation in a timely manner
- Ensure accuracy of spare parts inventory
- Perform proper Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and switching procedures as needed
- Support client training during commissioning
- Adhere to all health and safety rules and policies
- Complete other duties and projects as assigned
- Team up with colleagues and partners to achieve project goals
- Champion standards for quality, safety, and sustainability and contribute improvement ideas

Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of relevant service experience, preferably in renewable energy
- OSHA 30 certification (OSHA 10 acceptable if 30 obtained soon after hire)
- Knowledge of inverters, SCADA, and medium‑voltage power systems
- Familiarity with national electrical codes and energy storage system applications
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and preferred experience with CMMS software
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- First‑Aid training
- Ability to travel over 50% of the time and work independently or within a team
- Professional appearance and conduct, with strong teamwork, problem‑solving, and safety commitment
