Job summary

Valero is seeking a Sr. Rotating Equipment Engineer to enhance reliability of rotating machinery at the Port Arthur Refinery. You will deliver mechanical engineering support, lead root cause analyses, and help advance PM/PdM programs across the refinery.

The role requires a BS in Engineering and 5 years of rotating equipment experience, with on-site duties and after-hours availability. Competitive benefits and a collaborative team environment accompany the position.

Responsibilities

• Provide reliability and maintenance mechanical engineering support to increase rotating equipment reliability.
• Support EH&S goals and refinery maintenance objectives.
• Provide direction to Maintenance as required.
• Perform root cause failure analysis on rotating equipment.
• Develop and update spare parts stocking levels for rotating equipment.
• Develop and implement refinery-wide PM and PdM programs.
• Be available to answer calls and respond to refinery issues after hours.

As a Sr. Rotating Equipment Engineer, you will provide reliability and maintenance mechanical engineering technical support with the primary purpose of increasing rotating equipment reliability.

• Promotes Environmental, Health & Safety (EH&S) goals of the Company.
• Supports Maintenance Department Annual Goals.
• Provides support to Operations on Rotating Equipment issues.
• Provides direction to Maintenance as required.
• Performs "Root Cause Failure Analysis" on Rotating Equipment.
• Serves on teams requiring Rotating Equipment Engineering Input.
• Establishes and update spare parts requests/stocking levels for Rotating Equipment.
• Develops/Implements Refinery Wide Preventive Maintenance (PM) Program.
• Develops/Implements Refinery Wide Predictive Maintenance (PdM) Program.
• Must be available to answer calls and respond to refinery-related issues outside of regular business hours.
• Required to be on call and provide timely response to refinery-related issues after normal working hours.

This position is salaried exempt status, which means you are not eligible for overtime pay.

Minimum Requirements:

• Able and willing to work on-site, in-person at the Valero Port Arthur Refinery, required.
• Bachelor’s of Science (or higher) degree in Engineering required.
• 5 years rotating equipment experience is required.

Preferred Requirements:

• Bachelor’s or higher level degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred.
