Job summary

Qualifications

$60 - 65/hr w2

This is an onsite contract opportunity in Lake Forest, CA for a Senior Reliability Engineer supporting R&D and new product development for instrument-based products. The role focuses on reliability and quality engineering, test automation, LabVIEW/Python/R programming, statistical analysis, and verification and validation activities in a regulated environment.

This opportunity offers the chance to play a key role throughout the new product introduction lifecycle, working alongside multidisciplinary engineering and manufacturing teams to improve product robustness and reliability. You will gain hands-on exposure to automated testing, HALT/ALT, environmental and life testing, PCBA stress screening, embedded systems, and product transfer while helping drive products from R&D into manufacturing.

Required Skills & Experience

• 4+ years of experience with a BS degree or 2+ years of experience with an MS degree


• At least 4 years of R&D experience focused primarily on new product reliability and quality engineering activities


• Proven experience applying reliability engineering principles


• Familiarity with basic statistical methods and statistical analysis


• Familiarity with GMP/QSR regulations


• Knowledge of embedded systems and communication protocols, including CAN bus and Ethernet


• Practical test automation and programming experience using LabVIEW, Python, and/or R


• Experience with fixturing, laboratory testing methods, and/or equipment validation


• 1-2 years of experience executing process/product validation and transferring products from R&D into manufacturing


• Experience working on multidisciplinary teams across functions within a manufacturing environment


• Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, or optical design principles


• Strong learning agility


• BSc in Engineering, preferably Industrial, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering


• Fluent in English with the ability to prepare detailed technical reports and interim presentations

Desired Skills & Experience

• MS degree


• ASQ certification in Quality Engineering and/or Reliability Engineering


• Experience with automated test scripts, robotic programming, HALT, ALT, environmental testing, transportation testing, life testing, and PCBA stress screening


• Experience supporting Design for Reliability (DfR) objectives


• Experience producing compliant DHF documentation and supporting verification and validation activities
