innovations for structural heart disease. As part of our R&D Engineering team, you will work closely with our Quality and Manufacturing teams to develop the latest tools and technologies to address significant, unmet clinical needs that impact patients’ lives around the world.

How you’ll make an impact:

  • Build more complex prototypes, sub-assemblies, and prepare feasibility test units, samples, and/or chemical solutions. May build packaging prototypes for design feasibility and protocol testing,
  • Support a wider range of engineering activities such as test, modification, fabrication, 3D printing and assembly under minimal supervision of Engineers; and may propose technical solutions. Perform more complex work using drawings, diagrams, written and verbal instructions to perform testing, and trouble-shooting functions
  • Operate a wider range of lab equipment including set-up, clean-up, break-down, and re-assembly. Perform operational test and identify failure modes on systems and equipment; may propose technical solutions
  • Collect and document test data
  • Perform tests, collect, document, analyze test data and provides report out. May initiate ECRs (Engineering Change Request)
  • Develop material characterization library for engineering group.
  • Order and maintain lab supplies and equipment
  • Maintain lab equipment calibration and preventive maintenance. Troubleshooting as needed.
  • Complete first articles and dimensional inspections and complete IQ processes.
  • Design and build simple fixtures, using sketches, CAD, etc. May create and modify drawings and procedures for fixtures, equipment, products, or processes
  • Perform test method development and validation for equipment and product designs
  • Performs a wide variety of tasks in support of Engineering activities and other incidental duties as assigned by Management

What you’ll need (Required):
Associate's Degree (Preferred) or equivalent in technical degree/certificate and 2 years R&D Lab and/or medical device experience OR
4 years related experience

What else we look for (Preferred):

  • Good written and verbal communication, interpersonal, and relationship building skills
  • Problem solving methodology, root cause analysis, and GDP (Good Documentation Practices) – a Must
  • Good computer skills, including usage of MS Office Suite
  • Foundational statistical analysis.
  • Substantial understanding of equipment in a lab environment
  • Ability to perform more complex troubleshooting
  • Ability to identify problems and relevant issues in straightforward and more complex situations, assessing using standard procedures
  • Ability to use a wider range of manufacturing, test, development or diagnostic equipment; use tools such measuring equipment
  • Ability to read and understand procedures, drawings, schematics and carry out assembly instructions
  • Knowledge of and adherence to Edwards Environmental Health and Safety and Quality guidelines as they relate to lab and/or clean room medical device manufacturing
  • Strict attention to detail
  • Must be able to work in a team environment, including inter-departmental teams
  • Ability to provide feedback in a professional, direct, and tactful manner
  • Adhere to all company rules and requirements (e.g., pandemic protocols, Environmental Health & Safety rules) and take adequate control measures in preventing injuries to themselves and others as well as to the protection of environment and prevention of pollution under their span of influence/control

For California (CA), the base pay range for this position is $52,000 to $73,000 (highly experienced). The pay for the successful candidate will depend on various factors (e.g., qualifications, education, prior experience).Applications will be accepted while this position is posted on our Careers website.
