Field Service Technician - Los Angeles, CA (Remote)

You will provide technical support for the installation and refurbishment of our Aftermarket products, including disassembly, assembly, testing, and validation. This role involves specialized work on Refurbishment and Encore product lines, ensuring accurate component installation, leveling, and setup to factory standards. Frequent travel across North and South America, including weekend availability, is required. A valid passport or the ability to secure one is necessary.

Must have: Proven expertise in injection molding and blow molding processes.

Job Responsibilities:

1. Responsible for the installation and start-up of aftermarket service products such as machine refurbishments & Encore.
2. Resealing hydraulic seals on clamp and injection units.
3. Installation of pumps and motors.
4. Ability to level machines and robots, and adjust nozzle concentricity, platen parallelism, and tie-bar stretch.
5. Troubleshoot and correct issues across control systems, hydraulic, mechanical, pneumatic, electrical, electronic systems, and programmable controls.
6. Calibrate and fine-tune machines to achieve optimal performance.
7. Use reference materials like manuals, drawings, and procedures to systematically solve machine problems.
8. Repair or replace components on machines, robots, and product handling equipment.
9. Develop and maintain strong customer relations, coordinate with internal resources, and provide telephone support to customer maintenance staff.
10. Provide regular and detailed written reports.
11. Collaborate with Call Center/CSM PEs and Engineering/Jeffersonville Parts Center to resolve field issues.
12. Dress professionally, be punctual, and submit required documentation.
13. Instruct and train service technicians and customer operators on maintenance and safe operation of injection molding systems.
14. Guide and mentor junior Service Technicians.

Qualifications:

• Mechanically and electrically inclined with knowledge of electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical assembly; skilled in using calibrated measuring instruments.
• Electrical/Mechanical Technologist or equivalent experience.
• Knowledge of Husky injection molding technology.
• Ability to interpret blueprints and schematics for troubleshooting electrical/electronic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems.
• Strong troubleshooting, communication, and customer service skills.
• Diplomatic and tactful, capable of handling difficult customers.
• Proactive with a positive attitude, analytical, and decisive.
